Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Snapmuse Müzik Teknolojileri Anonim Şirketi ("Snapmuse", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Snapmuse Studio mobile app (the "App"). We are based in Türkiye and comply with applicable data protection laws including the Turkish Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK, No. 6698) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to run the Service:

Account data: email address, display name, and (if you sign in with Apple or Google) a unique identifier.
Usage data: tracks you play, like, or save; searches; projects you edit; screens you visit. Used to improve recommendations and product quality.
Media you import: video and photos you bring into the editor stay on your device by default. When you use cloud features (auto-captions, cloud render) we upload only what the feature requires, process it, and delete the source within 24 hours.
Device data: device model, OS version, app version, language, and crash diagnostics.
Purchase data: transaction identifiers from Apple In-App Purchase. We do not see or store your payment card details.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain the Service (authentication, library, playback).
Personalize recommendations and remember your likes.
Process subscriptions and prevent abuse or fraud.
Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset).
Diagnose crashes and improve performance.
Comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal basis (GDPR)

We process your data under the following legal bases: performance of a contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (improving the product, security), your consent (where applicable), and legal obligation.

4. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers:

Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
Apple and Google — sign-in identity providers if you choose them.
Apple — App Store, In-App Purchase, and related services.
RevenueCat — subscription processing: we receive your purchase status from Apple through RevenueCat to unlock Studio Pro. We never receive your payment card details.
Sentry — crash reports and error diagnostics (device model, OS and app version, what the app was doing when it failed).
PostHog — product analytics: which screens and features are used, in aggregate. It never receives the content of your media.
Resend or a similar provider — transactional email delivery.

Optional AI & media features only send data when you choose to use that feature:

OpenAI (Whisper) — when you generate auto-captions, the audio of the clip you caption is sent to produce the caption text.
ElevenLabs — when you create an AI voiceover, the text you enter is sent to synthesize speech.
Auphonic — when you use speech enhancement, the voice audio you record is processed to clean it up.

Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data and processes it only to deliver the feature you requested. We do not sell your information to anyone, ever.

5. Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons (e.g. tax records for purchases).

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and data.
Object to or restrict processing.
Export your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@snapmuse.com . You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Account deletion

You can delete your account and its data at any time inside the app: You tab → Account → Delete account. Your account is removed right away and any remaining stored files within 30 days. If you cannot reach the app, email privacy@snapmuse.com and we will confirm and delete your data within 30 days. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data and will notify you promptly of any breach affecting your information.

10. International transfers

Some of our providers operate servers outside the European Economic Area. When data is transferred, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to ensure your data remains protected.

11. Cookies and tracking

The App itself does not use browser cookies. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. We will notify you of material changes in the App or by email.
